PRETRIP ESSENTIALS

HEALTH & SAFETY:
Before traveling to Nepal, it is advisable to consult your doctor regarding your overall health and fitness for high-altitude trekking. While no specific vaccinations are required for most travelers, routine immunizations and personal medical advice are recommended. Carry a personal medical kit with essential medications, as healthcare facilities in remote trekking areas are limited. If you wear glasses or require prescription medicine, bring extras. Maintaining good physical condition, eating properly, and staying hydrated throughout the trek are essential for a safe and enjoyable experience.

ALTITUDE & ACCLIMATIZATION:
Altitude plays a key role in the Annapurna Circuit. Symptoms of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) may occur above 2,500 meters and can include headache, fatigue, nausea, and difficulty sleeping. Our itinerary includes proper acclimatization days in Manang to help your body adjust naturally. It is important to ascend gradually, avoid overexertion, and drink 2–4 liters of water daily. Always communicate openly with your guide about how you feel. If symptoms worsen, descending to a lower altitude is the safest solution.

WEATHER & CONDITIONS:
The Annapurna region features highly varied weather conditions. Lower areas are warm and green, while higher elevations are cold, dry, and windy. The weather can change quickly, especially above 3,000 meters, where sudden snowfall or temperature drops may occur. Days are often sunny and pleasant, but nights can be very cold. Dressing in layers allows you to adapt easily to changing conditions and remain comfortable throughout the trek.

PACKING:
Smart packing is essential for comfort and efficiency. Bring lightweight, practical clothing, including a warm jacket, thermal layers, trekking pants, gloves, a hat, and a waterproof outer layer. Good-quality trekking boots are necessary, along with comfortable footwear for evenings. Avoid unnecessary items such as heavy electronics. A power bank is useful, as charging may be limited. Porter weight is limited to 15 kg per person, so pack accordingly.

DAYPACK ESSENTIALS:
Your daypack should include water, sunscreen, sunglasses, snacks, a camera, and an extra layer of clothing. Personal items, basic toiletries, and important documents should be kept with you at all times. Keeping your daypack light will make daily walks more comfortable.

EMERGENCY SUPPORT:
All guides are trained in first aid and carry basic medical supplies. Travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation is mandatory. In the event of a serious illness or injury, evacuation to Kathmandu can be arranged quickly, ensuring your safety at all times.
